  • The qualification must be a full-time course from a recognized institute/university.
  • Minimum marks required: 50% (45% for SC/ST/PwBD for reserved posts).

The apprenticeship training at Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) spans 12 months from the date of engagement. Apprentices receive a monthly stipend as prescribed under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973, Apprentices Rules 1992/2019, and IOCL’s guidelines.

Concessions & Relaxations:

  1. Reservation of Seats: Seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer-NCL)/PwBD/Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates as per applicable government guidelines.

  2. Age Relaxation:

    • SC/ST Candidates: Up to 5 years relaxation in upper age limit.
    • OBC (NCL) Candidates: Up to 3 years relaxation in upper age limit.
    • PwBD Candidates: Up to 10 years relaxation in upper age limit, irrespective of reservation.
    • PwBD SC/ST Candidates: Additional 5 years relaxation.
    • PwBD OBC (NCL) Candidates: Additional 3 years relaxation.
  3. Qualification Marks: A relaxation of 5% in minimum prescribed qualification marks is provided for SC/ST/PwBD candidates considered against reserved positions.

  4. OBC (NCL) Candidates: The OBC caste mentioned in the certificate should be listed in the Central List of OBCs of the respective state, and the Non-Creamy Layer status should be valid as of the cut-off date for eligibility criteria.

Selection Process for IOCL Apprentices Recruitment 2025

  1. Online Application

    • Candidates must register on the NATS/NAPS portal and apply separately on the IOCL Pipelines Portal before the deadline.
  2. Preparation of Merit List

    • A merit list will be prepared based on the percentage of marks obtained in the essential qualification.
    • There will be no written test or personal interview.
  3. Tie-Breaking Criteria

    • If two or more candidates have the same percentage, preference will be given to the older candidate (based on date of birth).
    • If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate with higher marks in Class 10 will be preferred.
  4. Category-wise Seat Allocation

    • Reserved seats (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD/EWS) will be filled as per Government guidelines.
    • If EWS seats remain vacant, they will be filled by unreserved (UR) candidates based on merit.
  5. Medical Fitness

    • Candidates must be medically fit as per IOCL’s pre-engagement medical standards.
    • Guidelines for medical fitness are available on the IOCL website.
  6. Document Verification

    • Provisionally selected candidates will be called for document verification before final selection.
    • Original certificates, mark sheets, caste certificates (if applicable), and medical fitness certificates must be presented.
    • If any document is found incorrect or fraudulent, the candidate’s application will be canceled.
  7. Final Selection & Joining

    • Only candidates who successfully pass document verification and medical fitness will receive the final offer letter.
    • The decision of IOCL management will be final in all matters related to selection.

How to Apply for IOCL Apprenticeship

Candidates must complete the application process through both the NAPS/NATS Portal and the IOCL Pipelines Portal by following these steps:

Step 1: Registration on Apprenticeship Portals

Candidates must first register as an Apprentice on the appropriate portal based on their trade:

  1. For Trade Apprentices (Data Entry Operator & Domestic Data Entry Operator)

  2. For Technician Apprentices (Mechanical, Electrical, Telecommunication & Instrumentation)

  3. For Trade Apprentices (Assistant-Human Resource & Accountant)

🔹 Candidates must ensure their profile details (personal, educational, category, etc.) are correct in the portal. If any corrections are needed, they must contact the NATS/NAPS office before applying.

Step 2: Apply for IOCL Apprenticeship

After registering on NAPS/NATS, candidates must apply for an apprenticeship position in the Indian Oil Pipelines Portal:

  1. Visit the IOCL Pipelines Portal

  2. Complete Part-I Registration

    • Enter basic details (name, category, etc.).
    • Create a password and note down the system-generated registration number sent via email/SMS.
  3. Complete Part-II Registration

    • Upload scanned photograph (20-50 KB, JPG format).
    • Upload scanned signature in black ink (10-30 KB, JPG format).
    • Fill in educational qualifications and submit the application.
  4. Final Submission

    • Ensure all details are correct before submitting. No changes will be allowed after submission.
    • Take a printout of the submitted application for future reference.

Step 3: Important Deadlines

Verification of Documents for IOCL Apprenticeship

Candidates who are provisionally selected will be required to undergo document verification before final selection. The process is as follows:

1. Document Verification Process

  • A list of provisionally selected candidates will be published on the IOCL website.
  • Candidates must appear in person for document verification at the designated location.
  • The original documents along with self-attested copies must be submitted for verification.
  • If any document is found incorrect, forged, or missing, the candidate’s selection will be canceled.

2. Documents Required for Verification

Candidates must bring the following original documents along with self-attested photocopies:

  1. Proof of Date of Birth

    • Matriculation (Class 10) certificate or mark sheet (No other document will be accepted).
  2. Educational Qualification Certificates

    • Semester-wise/year-wise mark sheets of ITI/12th/Diploma/Degree.
    • Final Certificate of ITI (NCVT/SCVT), HSC, Diploma, or Degree issued by the recognized board/university.
  3. Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable)

    • SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS certificate in the prescribed format issued by the competent authority.
    • OBC-NCL candidates must provide a certificate issued within the last 12 months (valid as of 28.02.2025).
    • EWS candidates must provide an income & asset certificate as per Government norms.
  4. PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) Certificate (if applicable)

    • Must be issued in prescribed format under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
  5. Apprenticeship Registration Proof

    • Copy of NAPS/NATS registration number used for application.
  6. Government ID Proof

    • Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, and a copy of the first page of a bank passbook (Aadhaar-seeded account preferred).
  7. Medical Fitness Certificate

    • Candidates must bring a Pre-Engagement Medical Fitness Certificate issued by an authorized medical practitioner as per IOCL’s guidelines.
