Eligibility Criteria for NICL Assistant Recruitment 2024

NATIONALITY:

A candidate applying for recruitment in the Company must be one of the following:

a) A citizen of India, or
b) A subject of Nepal, or
c) A subject of Bhutan, or
d) A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
e) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam), intending to settle permanently in India.

Note: Candidates belonging to categories (b), (c), (d), and (e) must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

AGE (As on 01.10.2024):

Minimum Age: 21 years
Maximum Age: 30 years
Candidates must be born between 02.10.1994 and 01.10.2003 (both days inclusive).

The upper age limit is relaxed for specific categories as shown in the table below:

Qualification for NICL Assistant Recruitment 2024

A candidate must have at least a Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or hold an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. The candidate should possess a valid certificate as proof of passing the qualifying examination by 01.10.2024.

It is mandatory for candidates to have the ability to read, write, and speak the regional language of the State or Union Territory they are applying for. To assess this, a Regional Language Test will be conducted before the final selection. Candidates who do not demonstrate proficiency in this test will be disqualified.

Important Note:

Candidates are strongly advised to ensure they meet all eligibility criteria related to age, educational qualifications, and other requirements before applying. If a candidate is found ineligible at any stage of the recruitment process, their application will be canceled. Merely appearing for the Online Examination and Regional Language Test does not guarantee selection for the position.

Examination Process - NICL Assistant Recruitment 2024

All candidates must appear for both the Preliminary and Main online examinations. Candidates qualifying in the Main examination will then be shortlisted for the Regional Language Test.

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination (Online)

The Preliminary Examination consists of Objective Tests (Multiple Choice Questions) for 100 marks. The test will be conducted online and will last for 60 minutes, divided into three sections, each with separate timings:

Note: Candidates must secure passing marks in each section, as determined by the company.
A sufficient number of candidates (approximately 15 times the number of vacancies) will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.

Phase-II: Main Examination (Online)

The Main Examination consists of Objective Tests (Multiple Choice Questions) for 200 marks, with a total duration of 120 minutes. The exam includes five sections, each timed separately:

Important Points:
- The exam structure may be modified at the discretion of National Insurance Company, and changes will be notified on the website.
- A minimum score, as determined by the Company, is required to pass the Main Examination.
- Except for the English Language section, all questions will be available in both English and Hindi.
- Candidates qualifying the Main Examination will be called for the Regional Language Test (no separate marks will be awarded for this test).
- Final selection is based on performance in the Main Examination and Regional Language Test.
- If two or more candidates score equal marks in the merit list, the candidate senior in age will be shortlisted for the next stage.
- A penalty of one-fourth of the marks assigned to the question will be deducted for wrong answers in both Preliminary and Main examinations. No marks will be deducted for unattempt questions.
- The Final Merit List will be prepared state-wise and category-wise based on marks secured in the Main Examination, subject to passing the Regional Language Test. Candidates selected will be appointed, subject to medical fitness.
- A Contingency List may be prepared for candidates in case of non-acceptance of employment offers by the selected candidates.
